In addition to yesterday's in-depth discussion with John De Margheriti, CEO of BigWorld on the purchase, Wargaming has issued further comments.
Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming, said: "This is a pivotal event that further reinforces Wargaming’s growth and expansion. BigWorld Technology is helmed by highly experienced professionals, and our acquisition of it enables us to take all of its technology in house, providing a winning combination of technical expertise and service excellence to players worldwide."
Sydney and Canberra-based BigWorld has been a premier middleware provider for numerous titles for many years, one of which was the breakout hit for Wargaming: World of Tanks.
It was this strong relationship which led to the purchase of BigWorld by Wargaming, although for the moment BigWorld is seeing an expansion and continues to provide middleware solutions as normal.
De Margheriti added: "We fully expect that BigWorld technology will reinforce Wargaming, broadening the company's technical expertise and knowledge in the industry, and helping it excel its unique creativity and experience."
