Sega has sent through word today that Rome II is the fastest pre-ordering title in the series to date.
It apparenty broke said record by a factor of six over the previous title SHOGUN 2, and in the US alone over half the Collector's Edition copies have already sold out as well.
The Total War series is the brainchild of Sega Creative Assembly, with the Australian Brisbane-based arm of the developer playing a key role. The local developer has since re-branded Sega Studios Australia, and has been working on other franchises including the London 2012 Olympics Game and Stormrise, but is now set to close down in August.
This isn't stopping the franchise from powering on, however, with the series moving 2 million units in the last year alone in spite of there being no major release in the series to drive sales.
Total War: Rome II will be out on PC this September.
