Rockstar released the first Grand Theft Auto V gameplay trailer this morning, and MCV spoke with some of Australia and New Zealand’s top journalists to gauge their reactions.
Game Informer magazine Australian editor Chris Stead said, “The gameplay presented in the trailer is pretty much a bang-on representation of what I've experienced in the live demo: you can believe in it. Looks like this generation is going to go down swinging, Grove Street-style.”
“If you listen closely, you can hear a moan of despair from every AAA developer releasing a game this year,” agreed GameArena editor Joab Gilroy.
“The smallest features mentioned are the most enticing,” said AusGamers editor Stephen Farrelly. “But it certainly still looks and feels like GTA. It left with me with far more questions.”
“Not ashamed to say that this in-game GTA V trailer made ‘it’ move,” confessed Official PlayStation Magazine editor Adam Mathew. “Goddamn! 2013 just will not quit.”
“It somehow made me more excited for a game I already couldn't wait to get my hands on, and thus made September 17 seem an awfully long way away,” concluded Gameplanet New Zealand editor Matt Maguire.
