The Darkness II shines at Insert Coin(s)

Last night saw the third iteration of Pat Kolan's Insert Coin(s) event series, with The Darkness II playable and Secret Wars bringing the art.

The event saw over 900 attendees at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory, making it the largest Insert Coin(s) yet.

On the main stage, live music was eschewed in favour of giving greater prominence to Secret Wars' art battle, in which local artists Sprinkles and Creon went head to head in creating the most stunning Darkness II themed murals (pictured in the making).

The game was playable to the public across 10 screens, and spawned interest from some cosplayers who dressed up for the event.

The usual Insert Coin(s) staples of the milk bar, countless arcade and pinball machines and a hotdog stand were present, and the side bar saw every Darkness console occupied until close, adding its unique, gory sense of macabre to the night.

Co-founder of Insert Coin(s) Pat Kolan has confirmed that the events will continue, with a fourth already in the works. People can join the Facebook page for updates.
