TapJoy created an Australian Free-to-Play development fund

Mobile ad company TapJoy is stepping up its Australian recruitment campaign by directly funding Australian development companies.

TapJoy provides a service whereby it allows people to make in-game purchases (for upgrades, items etc) by either viewing ads, downloading other games or similar unpaid contributions by the players.

It's value lies in its user base and its ability to ply them with content, and in return ply each new game with an existing user base and a way to monetize.

It's a handy way to sort out the backend of a free-to-play title for fledgling indie developers who don't have the resources to properly manage a free-to-play backend (no easy task), made all the handier by the announcement of the TapJoy Australia Fund.
