The Game Developer's Association of Australia has named a new President in the form of Halfbrick CEO Shainiel Deo.
The unanimous decision to vote in Deo took place on 22nd May at the Annual general Meeting of the GDAA.
Deo has been an incredibly active member of the Australian game development community during his time running Halfbrick, steering it to become one of Australia's largest developers and pouring much of his efforts into building up the community along the way.
The President of the GDAA is responsible for representing the game development sector to government, industry and the media.
Anthony Lawrence, the Studio General Manager of 2K Australia in Canberra has been the President up until now, and has done an amazing job of building awareness and navigating the Australian industry through some of the toughest times its faces in recent years.
