Today, QV Software confirmed that Australia would be receiving Guild Wars 2 on the same date as the rest of the world: 28th August.
The sequel to the free-to-play MMO is set to bring PvP, intense combat action and customisable, personal storylines to the genre when it drops into Australia through QV.
Omar Braery, Marketing Director at QVS, told MCV: "Being free to play, GW2 is the ultimate gaming experience for MMO/RPG fans who can come and go as they please. People drop in to play the game because they want to, not because they feel obligated to get their money’s worth."
The original game took an episodic format, and was identified primarily through its strong PvP offering, although it also offered co-op play.
Braery continued: "With sales of more than seven million units of the original game, GW2 is set to be an entertainment property with wide appeal which will be reflected through our planned mass marketing marketing campaign. We’re very excited about finally being able to announce the release date for Guild Wars 2 – the most anticipated game of 2012."
