Playstation Mobile is a range of Playstation certified games designed to run on Vita as well as Android phones and tablets.
At Sony's Playstation Playground event this week, it was confirmed that the service would be hitting Australia in October, making it one of the first countries in line.
MCV asked Patrick Lagana, Marketing Manager at Sony, whether the service alters the strategy around Vita.
He replied: "It doesn't; if anything, it compliments Vita because they're compatible across platform, so those mobile-only experiences will be available for all Vita owners."
"One of the benefits of working on the platform is that it opens you up to the Playstation world and Playstation users. We facilitate communications between local developers and the right people overseas to get them involved in the platform wherever we can."
