PopCap's multiplayer tower defence game will shuffle onto PC in June, says publisher EA.

The Windows version will launch on June 26 in Australia and New Zealand and will be distributed through Origin. It'll pack the Garden Variety and Zomboss Down DLC already available for the console release.

EA-owned Origin has also opened up pre-orders for a $34.99 Digital Deluxe edition, that comes with character customisation options, a pair of booster packs, and in-game coins. The standard edition is also available to pre-order for $29.99.

PvZ: Garden Warfare launched in Feburary for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms and this week sees the introduction of micro-transactions to the console release.

Until now the title’s in-game currency has only been earnable by completing in-game tasks but, as is the way with many EA titles, an upcoming update will soon offer the chance for gamers to pay for virtual cash with real-world money.

“Players will be given the option to purchase coins from the Sticker Shop, which allows players the ability to access new packs and character content more quickly – all the same content that can be earned through regular gameplay,”  PopCap's Brian Lindley said.

“Now you have the choice to play your way; you can play to get new packs and content via earned coins in the game, or you can purchase coins to get more of the packs and content you want right away.”

Around a year ago EA asserted that, contrary to reports, micro-transactions would not feature in all of its titles going forwards.
