PikPok, the mobile gaming arm of premier Kiwi developer Sidhe, has today announced a partnership with Wellington-based Launching Pad Games to bring Monster Flip to iOS in March.

Monster Flip marries match-three and puzzle gaming as players flip, switch, swipe and match monsters to help them return home.

Launching Pad's Tristan Clark told MCV: "The single best thing about working with PikPok was the people. They really put the time and effort in to making this game better, whether it's the amazing music and sound effects, the upcoming (and also amazing) trailer, or the always-helpful feedback from QA. PikPok brings a lot to the table with regards to marketing and the like, but it's the fact that they helped make our game better than it otherwise would have been that means so much to us."

Development on Monster Flip began in mid-December, and Clark noted that PikPok's resources have greatly benfitted its development.

Clark continued: "We'd been prototyping before that while working on an update for Mighty Fin, but it's been two and a half months of solid work, and when I say 'solid' I mean very busy."

Mario Wynands, Managing Director at PikPok, told MCV that the company has been working towards publishing third-party titles for some time.

Wynands added: "Supporting New Zealand developers in particular is of great interest to us. There is so much great content being developed here that in a lot of cases really needs the support of a partner such as ourselves to help reduce the commercial risk for developers and help the games reach their full potential both critically and financially.  We aren’t limiting ourselves to just New Zealand though, and have stuff in the works with developers in other countries also."

"Launching Pad is a studio that people should really keep an eye on. Working with them on Monster Flip has been very rewarding for both parties."

Monster Flip will be available from March for USD $0.99. The game requires iOS 4.1 or later.
