Penny Arcade Expo is heading down under

At the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Seattle this weekend, it was announced that in 2013, the expo will be going international.

The first ever PAX to be held outside of the US is happening, and it'll be right here in Australia, although no further details have been provided as to the city it'll be held in or the dates involved.

The announcement was made by owners Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulic during one of PAX Prime's Q&A sessions.

PAX has been running since 2004, and defines itself by giving an even split of attention to all categories of gaming, across console, PC and tabletop.

It has since split into PAX Prime (in Seattle), PAX East (in Boston) and PAX Dev (also in Seattle, but a strictly non-media event).

More news on this shortly.
