Indie developers in Australia and New Zealand can now submit their games for consideration as part of PAX Aus 2014's Indie Showcase.
The Indie Showcase complements the Indie Pavilion and highlights six indie games hand picked by PAX's judges according to criteria that prioritise "fun factor and a great gameplay experience" over art, audio and stunning visuals.
To be eligible to submit you must be an independent developer based in Australia or New Zealand with no traditional publisher-developer relationship in place. While your studio cannot be funded by an outside party, unlike last year government grants and crowd-sourced funding are allowed.
Developers must submit a beta version of their game along with a $50 entry fee by July 6. Full details are on the PAX Aus site.
The six games chosen will each receive a booth and promotion at PAX Aus 2014. If the developer has already booked a booth on the Indie Pavilion then they will be eligible for a full refund on the booth costs.
Last year the six games chosen were Antichamber (Alexander Bruce), Black Annex (Man Fight Dragon), Duet (Kumobius), Fractured Soul (Endgame Studios), InFlux (Impromptu Games), and MacGuffin's Curse (Brawsome).
PAX Aus 2014 is held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 31 to November 2 this year.
