It seems Sydney developer Nnooo has been keeping mum about its plans for EscapeVektor for some time.
The developer blogged about the process of becoming a registered developer for the new Playstation Vita handheld, and was quick to announce the 3DS and Vita versions of their critically acclaimed WiiWare game after Michael Ephraim confirmed local approved developers at the Vita launch party on Tuesday night.
EscapeVektor: Chapter 1 is a unique arcade-puzzle game which harks back to the days of Qixx and Tron, beckoning the player to navigate a 2D sci-fi minimalist setting, avoiding traps and making their way to the exit.
EscapeVektor for the 3DS and Wii will comprise chapters 1 to 4 of the saga, and will be released in late 2012.
Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo, said: "We were delighted by the reception the WiiWare™ version of the game received. We originally planned to have four Chapters but have now decided to roll them all into one game and bring it out on these new consoles to reach a wider audience."
"Playing the game in 3D on the Nintendo 3DS is really cool. With the background to each level pulsing in time to the cool chip-tune soundtrack you really get drawn into game’s environment."
"For PlayStation Vita players we hope to make use of near™ and location based leaderboards. We’ll also be experimenting with the front and rear touchscreen controls."
