New Aussie distributor opens up

Brian Quigley, formerly GM of Sales at Nintendo and former lead of distribution for THQ, has started his own company, Turn Left Distribution.

Turn Left will offer high-level service to top-tier publishers across Australia and New Zealand, and has announced its first partner in Disney Interactive Games, and its first title being the game based on the upcoming Pixar title, Brave, launching next Thursday 5th of July.

Quigley, General Manager of Turn Left, told MCV: “After many years working with publishing partners like SEGA, Capcom and Disney to bring their games to the Australian market, we wanted to launch a new kind of distributor, designed around everything we’ve learnt along the way.”

PR and Marketing through Turn Left is being handled by Chris Wright’s Surprise Attack, which was launched in 2011 as a specialist videogames PR agency, while warehousing and pick and ship duties are being handled by QV Software in Sydney.

Turn Left’s Head of Operations will be Chris Muelu (formerly from Nintendo, THQ and Namco Bandai).

Quigley continued: “We will offer the best possible support, service and focus for AAA publishers looking to maximize their results in the region. Everything is customized to the needs and priorities of our partners  – we don’t shoe-horn them into our business, we build our business around them.”

Turn Left will be based out of Melbourne.
