Microsoft Points are no more

Local currencies are replacing Microsoft Points in territories around the world today, including here in Australia and New Zealand.

Effective today, all existing Microsoft Points will be shifted across to Australian and New Zealand dollars at either equal or greater value than the points would've been worth.

Existing points cards will still be redeemable for an indeterminate amount of time during the transition phase.

This brings Microsoft and Sony in line with one another more visible in their respective stores, which will make fo interesting analysis once the next generation hardware arrives.
