The Tekken Tag Tournament 2 launch event at Sydney's iMAX Theatre won the record for the largest screen ever to host a gaming tournament.

Mark Gilbert, Sales and Marketing Director for Namco Bandai Partners (pictured), said: "We did it! What a way to celebrate the launch of Tekken Tag tournament 2 with a Guinness World Record, Kazuya looked enormous!”

Chris Sheedy, Australian representative for Guinness World Records added: “There's no bigger gaming experience than Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on an IMAX screen. I was thrilled to witness a new record being set in such spectacular circumstances."

The event was shelled in an IGN Black Beta coating, and saw some 400 wannabe combatants vie for a spot in the Euoprean Tekken championships.

The game on the big screen was simply spectacular, in the truest sense of the word, and the mixture of the big screen and the foyer IDU setup for the heats will be something to beat moving forward.

Sammy G was on hand performing as well, and the entire night was a flurry of active and enthusiastic IGN readers.
