Ubisoft were able to host a different type of press event to promote the Australian launch of personal trainer / rhythm game Rocksmith.
Hiring out the Annandale Hotel (one of Sydney's last remaining stalwarts of live music), Ubisoft presented media with a set by indie powerpop four-piece Boy in a Box.
The catered gig had playable Rocksmith IDUs all over the place plugged into an assortment of real-world guitars, one of which was given away by raffle at the end of the night.
Rocksmith has already launched overseas, and is being hailed as a way to combine videogames and the practise of actual guitar skills. It will be available on 27th September.
