Last Friday saw teams from local publishers and other industry bodies join to play in a friendly netball tournament in Sydney.
The day was put on by the Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (iGEA), and saw the usual suspects pull out in front, with Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Warner Bros all being fierce competition.
Raelene Knowles from the iGEA told MCV: "It was great to see our members and the wider industry get together for the inaugural Netball tournament last week. We found netball to be a bit more inclusive and, as always, extremely competitive."
"Everyone had a great day and congratulations to Warner Bros for taking out the first trophy – and apologies for the damage done to Zac! We’re all looking forward to the next soccer tournament later in the year."
Almost all of the local Sydney publishers attended the event, and Qantm college also pulled together a team. It was a mixed day of amateurish friendly play mixed with highly competitive teams, and intensely frustrated referees who became flustered at keeping track of the number of fouls from those of us who hadn't played the sport before.
Congratulations to Warner Bros, who took the title as overall winners for the day!
