IGN to host Black Beta Select Awards

Voting opens this Sunday 9th December for the best games of 2012.

IGN has partnered with Mountain Dew to bring the awards to life, and plans to make them the biggest awards show for videogames which has ever taken place down under.

James Whitehead, GM of IGN Entertainment Australia, said: "We are stoked to bring these two events together and take our event activities to the next level. Gaming is such a celebrated medium in this country and we are proud to be launching an activity which will unite our industry and celebrate one of the fastest growing entertainment genres there is.”

Ron Curry, CEO of the iGEA, added: "It’s always great to see the gaming industry come together to celebrate our successes and we believe the Black Beta Select Awards will be the perfect opportunity to do just that."

"It’s a great opportunity for the games publishers, distributors and communities to come together and we look forward to celebrating with them and the IGN team come February."

The awards are scheduled to take place on 1st February 2013.
