iGEA and PwC date next industry briefing

The iGEA and PriceWaterhouseCoopers have today confirmed the date for the next industry briefing as 23rd August.

The briefing will follow shortly after the release of PriceWaterhouseCoopers' Media Outlook Report, which is being released next week on Monday 30th July.

The announcement reads: "This year's report focuses on mobility and the value of Australian content. PwC predicts that interactive gaming will be the fastest growing consumer supported entertainment & media sector over the next 5 years, second only to the internet."

This will be the first report and briefing since the 2011 sales figures reported a slight dip in the sector for the first time, so keen eyes will be on the projected growth for the industry and in particular the digital space looking forward to 2016.

In keeping with reports from previous years, the PwC Media Outlook Report will outline trends in the games industry, also looking at trends in adjacent markets to paint a picture of how the whole sector is tracking.

The event will be held at PwC, and MCV will be in attendance to help shine a light on the industry's biggest challenges and main focus for the years to come.
