Today and tomorrow only, Harvey Norman is advertising 50% off all games, leading to some obnoxiously low prices across the board.
The company has taken the precaution of limiting purchases to 2 per customer, and has excluded pre-orders from the deal.
It seems clearly driven to attract new customers rather than to service existing ones, with the sale garnering significant coverage already, and offering prices low enough to draw the less loyal customers away from the big three.
Whether or not this is designed to draw customers from special edition coveting stores to bargain-hunting ones or whether it's simply stock clearance is anyone's guess, but with even the biggest of last year's titles clocking in at around AUD$30 and even the recently released Mass Effect 3 going for AUD$39, this is a sale which is sure to get a lot of attention over the next two days.
