Rockstar's latest release will accumulate more than $1 billion in revenue in its first month, estimates Baird Equity Research.
By comparison, GTA IV made $900 million during its first month, shipping roughly 3.6 million units on day one and making $500 million in its first week. Through to the end of March 2014 Baird predicts GTA V shipments of 20 million units and $1.5 billion in sales.
As impressive as all these numbers sound, that would mean GTA V would actually fall short of the record-breaking performance posted by Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
The Treyarch shooter sold 7.5 million copies in its first day alone, making over $500 million. Revenues exceeded $800 million in its first five days and hit $1 billion in just 15 days.
