GAME to enter liquidation

Following on from yesterday's news that the remaining 31 GAME stores are set to close, PriceWaterhouseCoopers has confirmed GAME's impending liquidation.

Kate Warwick, GAME administrator and liquidator at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, said: "Fifteen GAME stores continue to operate.  These stores have commenced a final clearance sale whilst we continue to progress interest in the remaining parts of the business."

The news comes after the second and final meeting of the creditors, which took place yesterday.

As previously noted, employees at game will be able to take advantage of the Federal Government’s General Employee Entitlements and Redundancy Scheme (GEERS) to claim any owed moneys.
