Game Tech confirms 2012 speakers

At this year's Game Tech event, speakers from unlikely corners of the commercial world will be discussing the potential for videogames.

Adding to the previously announced list of confirmed speakers will be, Lisa Marino, CEO of RockYou (owners of Brisbane-based Facebook developer 3 Blokes), plus a list of over 30 speakers from local companies including:

  • Ubisoft
  • Disney Interactive Media Group
  • Small Worlds
  • Defiant Development
  • Optus
  • Bubble Gum Interactive
  • Rip Curl
  • Commonwealth Bank
  • Sydney Festival

Dominic Patterson, producer of Game Tech, cites last year's interest and significant growth in social gaming and gamification of services peripheral to the core games market, as the reason for the varied list of speakers aimed at driving growth in the way local gaming publishers and other more traditional entitles do business with others interested in the sector.

Patterson said: "Digital media has enabled Games to become integrated with every aspect of our lives. Whether it is the traditional games industry discussing industry directions or digital media specialists learning how game-play and gamification can enable new avenues of engagement, Gametech is very much needed, especially in this region."

Ron Curry, CEO of the IGEA, added: "With the astounding pace of change in content creation, engagement and distribution, Gametech is beneficial not only for the various business groups within the interactive games industry, but those that wish to work and learn from the interactive games industry."

MCV Pacific is proud to be an official media supporter of Game Tech this year, and will be offering extensive interviews with key speakers and in-depth content throughout the event.

Game Tech 2012 will be held over 19th June and 20th June at Sydney's Luna Park.
