Game Informer still solidly growing in ANZ

Citrus Media is reporting that its flagship gaming magazine Game Informer has increased sales 55% year-on-year.

The figures come from July 2011 to December 2011, and indicate monthly sales of 45'331 across Australia and New Zealand. This compares with 17% growth for the next largest magazine in the region, and marks the second time in a row Game Informer has been able to report first place growth.

Jim Flynn, publisher of Game Informer, said: "Game Informer’s continued strong growth is very encouraging. 2011 was a tremendous year for the magazine and we have exciting plans lined up for 2012 and beyond."

Roy Morgan research is also reporting growth amongst the magazine's readership, now at 135'000 readers across ANZ, up 12.5% from last year.

Chris Stead, editor of Game Informer, added: "Last year was simply amazing. To buck the market trend with such strength and authority gives me tremendous faith in the direction of our content, our design and in the ability of my local team of experts."

"I'm especially proud of winning the AMA award: it's a great achievement that pays-off a lot of hard yakka. However, we're still young and have a lot of growth ahead of us. We will continue to lay the foundations for the magazine as we prepare to lead from the front with the launch of the next-generation of consoles and to take Australian gamers into the future."

Game Informer is available for AUD$4.95 from EB Games and selected newsagents and supermarkets.
