A games accelerator called Right Pedal Studios is offering to help house, fund and guide newcomer iOS and Android developers.
The plan is for those teams which are selected to join Right Pedal to receive up to AUD$50'000 in funding, office space at Right Pedal, mentorship and an alumni program.
Steve Baxter, founder of River City Labs, is seeding the accelerator, which is to be managed by 3 Blokes veteran John Passfield.
The mentors for the endeavour include Morgan Jaffit (Defiant Development), Dan Vogt (Halfbrick), Matt Hall (Klicktock), David Zwierzchaczewski (Autodesk), Gordon Moyes (Griffith University, Pras Moorthy (Kixeye), Steve Baxter and John Passfield.
“Australia is home to some of the greatest mobile game developers in the world and we’re excited to help up and coming developers reach their potential.” said Baxter.
“We want to team up with smart developers working on great games. Our goal is to help them where we can and allow them to focus on making the best game possible.” added Passfield.
The first teams will be selected as early as February / March this year.
