GAME Australia enters administration

GAME Australia enters administration

This morning, GAME Australia has officially entered into administration after not being able to secure a buyer to remain afloat.

According to Kotaku, an email was sent out to all stores informing the staff this morning which indicated that GAME was going into administration.

MCV Pacific understands that the administration is being handled by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and has contacted the company for further details on GAME's situation.

After the same fate befell GAME UK, the GAME Australia arm, which is a separate company and did not necessarily have to follow suit, sought independent finance to back their continued trading or buy them out entirely.

Given today's news, it would seem a backer hasn't been found.

More on this story as it develops.
