Yesterday, the organisers of the Freeplay independent games festival sent word that they were taking submissions for the September awards.
The categories now accepting nominations are:
- Best Game
- Best International Game
- Best Design in a Game
- Best On-Paper Design
- Best Art in a Game
- Best Technical Innovation
- Best Game Writing
- Best Audio
Nominations will be open until 20th August, and submissions can be made at the official Freeplay web site. Nominees will be announced on 5th September.
This awards marks the third annual Freeplay awards. The Freeplay festival is an independent games festival which explores game culture, art, design and education.
This year's Freeplay festival is themed 'Chaos and Grace', and will take place on 19th-23rd September in Melbourne at the State Library of Victoria.
