FOXTEL voice commands reach Australia

Microsoft has today announced that voice commands and hand gestures are now available for FOXTEL on Australian Xbox 360s.

Owners of Microsoft Kinect were able to start navigating their Xbox 360 dashboards using similar voice commands and hand gestures late last year.

This same technology being applied to FOXTEL subscribers who use their Xbox 360 makes it the first broadcaster in Australia to utilise such technology.

Kimberley Francis, head of Xbox, Microsoft Australia, said: "By making technology invisible we make it even easier for people to interact with their entertainment and we are thrilled to now bring this to a live television experience with FOXTEL."

Updates for the new functionality are being automatically sent out as an update today.
