Ex-KMM and Team Bondi staff form new indie studio in Sydney

Some of the creators of LA Noire, now without a home, have set about creating a new indie studio called Intuitive Game Studios.

Alex Carlyle, who was a design lead at Team Bondi on LA Noire, has set up the studio with his long time friend who worked on the storyboarding for the game, Kelly Baigent, who also held a major role in New Zealand-based Tui Studios.

It's a silver lining after KMM's people were let go last month that devs are still looking to remain in Australia.

“I really do want to stay in Australia and try and overcome the drive which is leading everyone to Canada or the like," Carlyle told MCV. "I want to stay here and make games and hopefully be able to sustain a small studio, provide employment and jobs here.”

To begin with, Intuitive will be bringing people on as contractors rather than hiring full-time staff, as is necessary with most new indie startups.

There's no word yet on the first title Intuitive will be working on, but people looking to follow the team can check out their Facebook page here.
