EB World membership passes 1 million

EB Games has confirmed that its reward scheme, which was announced at the EB EXPO last year, has already got more than 1 million participants.

Of these 1 million, 70'705 members have passed the 'level 1' tier, which required them to have earned at least 1200 'carrots'. This can loosely be looked at as either $1200 in purchases, or $600 in trade-ins or pre-owned purchases.

Stephen Wilson, MD of EB Games, said: "We have been simply blown away and are humbled by how passionately the Australian public has embraced the EB World program, and as a result how quickly we have been able to achieve this milestone."

"We believe this success has been on the back of EB World’s “all carrot no stick” approach which provides members with compelling value, true recognition and unique gaming experiences that only EB Games can deliver."

There have been over 317,951,597 carrots earned by members so far across 3,551,316 games, the most popular (unsurprisingly) is the Call of Duty franchise.

Wilson continued: "EB Games would like to thank all our 1 million loyal customers who have supported and embraced this truly unique program. EB Games are committed to evolving the EB World program to meet the ever changing needs of our members, and continuing to listen to feedback.”

EB is giving away over AUD$1 million in store credit and prizes to EB World members, as well as putting up a VIP trip for 4 to the EB EXPO in October.

EB World was originally launched in November of 2011.
