Tecmo Koei has announced that the Ninja Gaiden 3 Collector's Edition will be exclusive to EB Games in Australia and New Zealand.
The Collector's Edition will feature a game art book entitled 'Unmask', soundtrack CD, a two-person figurine of Ryu duelling one of his enemies, plus access to the Dead or Alive 5 demo.
Tecmo Koei has also given the game a local release date, following in the trend of local distributor THQ to release its titles earlier here with a 22nd March Aussie release comapred to 23rd in New Zealand and Europe.
Ninja Gaiden 3 will be the first game in the series since its rebirth in 2004 to launch simultaneously on 360 and PS3, with the latter having been previously treated to Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, both re-worked versions of the Xbox versions of the game with additional content.
This iteration of the much-loved franchise is also the first outing for the series to not be directed by Tomonobu Itagaki, instead being helmed by Yosuke Hayashi, director of the series' Sigma editions.
Continuing on from the epic quest of Ryu Hayabusa, the gory and remarkably difficult action hack-n-slash from Team Ninja looks set to build nicely on the existing canon and treat players to a much more versatile hero who can climb walls, glide from massive buildings and take on a huge variety of demons and high-tech soldiers in an ever-expanding array of locales.
The Ninja Gaiden 3 Collector's Edition will be available from EB Games for AUD$148, while the standard edition will be available for AUD$99.95 or NZD$129.95.
