EA uses a more open approach to tackle FIFA PR

Last night, EA brought members of the Sydney FC out to its offices to mix with journalists, play FIFA 13, eat pizza and drink beer.

EA has told MCV that it plans to bring select members of the FIFA 13 community from local fan groups and invite them to get involved as well, as a similarly casual and low-key play session of the game is set to occur every two weeks between now and the game's launch.

Such an informal presentation is perfectly suited to a known-quantity and single-screen social game like FIFA, and EA's inclusion of the community itself is part of a wider plan where it has been throwing community events on the tail-end of media sessions during the day, as previously seen with Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

The move would not have been possible at EA's old location in Pyrmont, with the new Sydney CBD offices providing ample space for various types of events, which the company appears to be making the most of.

FIFA 13 is available for PS3 and 360 (AUD$99.95 or NZD$119.95) and Vita (AUD$69.95 or NZD$79.95) on 27th September in Australia and 28th September in New Zealand.
