Every year, Bond University and the Interactive Games and Entertainment Association team up to give us a shapshot of Australian gamers.
Digital Australia, as it is known, outlines the average age and demographic split of gamers, how games are most commonly played and what attitudes towards gaming currently are.
The reports were instrumental in the fight for an R18+ age rating for games, and, combined with the Media Outlook Report from PriceWaterhouseCoopers, is the best tool for understanding the Australian market for games as well as looking at how other digital devices are used, and what their usage means for games and culture.
This year's report will be due out on 21st October in Canberra and 22nd October in Sydney, with Digital New Zealand set to hit in Auckland on 30th October and Wellington on 31st October.
Those interested in attending the launch of the report and hearing from its authors can do so by emailing the IGEA here.
