Dark Souls II is Japan's number one game

Famitsu sales chart peg From Software's RPG as the best-selling game in Japan last week while the PS4 continues to top the hardware chart.

Dark Souls II sold 256,701 units on PS3 in its first week – that’s seven times more than its closest rival Youkai Watch on 3DS.

Despite no titles in the software top ten, PS4 remains the best selling hardware (28,864) in its fourth week of availability, although it only narrowly pipped Vita (27,576). Wii U sales fell by 1,000 units week-on-week.

Here are the hardware charts for the week ending March 16:
