Chris Davey becomes Blizzard Marketing Director

Over at Blizzard Entertainment, long-serving staff member Chris Davey has seen a promotion to become the Marketing Director for ANZ.

Davey began his career in Australia 11 years ago in magazine publishing, and has been with Blizzard through the launches of World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2 and now Diablo III. He served first as Media Relations Manager in 2004 and has enjoyed regular moves upwards in the company since then, now reporting to the Senior Director of Global Brand Management at Blizzard HQ in Irvine California, John Heinecke.

Heinecke told MCV: “Chris has been instrumental in leading Blizzard Entertainment’s marketing and PR efforts in Australia and New Zealand since 2004.   His recent promotion to Marketing Director is a reflection of his strong marketing abilities, keen understanding of the marketplace and passion for our brands.”

Davey added: “'The company has grown tremendously over the past 8 years - from the launch of WoW back in 04' through to last weeks release of Diablo III. I've always enjoyed my time with Blizzard and this expanded role allows me to add more value to the business.  I'm incredibly excited about the games and services we'll bring to the region in the coming years.”

MCV congratulates Chris Davey on the new role.
