Biggest fighting game tournament in Southern Hemishphere comes to Melbourne

The Shadowloo Showdown is back this October.

Running from the 12th-13th October at The Atrium at the Flemington Race Centre in inner Melbourne, the event is tipped to bring in competitors for various fighting games from a number of contries from as close as New Zealand to as far away as the US.

At last year's event, the Shadowloo Showdown saw some 400 competitors and over 20'000 concurrent viewers via the event's Twitch TV account.

This year, the team is aiming to beat that again.

Games set for competition include:

  • Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012 (Xbox 360)
  • Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Xbox 360)
  • King of Fighters XIII (Xbox 360)
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us (Xbox 360)
  • Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (Sony PS3)
  • Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown (Xbox 360)
  • Super Smash Bros Melee (GameCube/Wii)
  • Super Smash Bros Brawl (Nintendo Wii)
