Aussie dev scores rights to Judge Dredd iOS interactive game books

Tin Man Games, Melbourne-based studio, has acquired the rights from Rebellion to do a Gamebook Adventures title based on the Judge Dredd comics.

The comic will come to life as a Gamebook Adventures title, which work as a modern, digital take on the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure and Fighting Fantasy for iOS devices.

Neil Rennison, creative director at Tin Man Games, told MCV: "We're really excited to bring the Judge Dredd IP to GameBook Adventures. It's great to see such a huge property in the hands of a locally-based team, and we're thrilled that Rebellion have decided to work with us on this project."

Rennison says that this deal will undoubtedly spawn the biggest Gamebook Adventures title to date. The deal will likely open the doors to this series of successful interactive books playing host to other licensed IP in the future.

The Judge Dredd franchise is massive, having first come about in 1977 and running since then in one form or another, including an upcoming movie (although the Tin Man gamebook is purely based on the comics).
