Aussie Andrew Wilson named new CEO of EA

EA has finally appointed a new CEO, and its none other than the chap who got his start at EA here in Australia.

“From my start at EA in Australia back in 2000, through stops in Asia, Europe and now North America, I’ve worked with people in this company who have consistently amazed and inspired me," said the once Executive VP of EA Sports.

The Wall Street Journal said the move to select Wilson (rather than an outsider) signifies an intent on EA's part to stay the course, and indeed the welcoming note on EA's blog demonstrates Wilson's commitment to continuing the company's tradition of producing big Triple A games while continuing to push a strong digital strategy.

Wilson has promised to outline his vision for the company in more detail soon.
