A free open beta of Grinding Gears' Path of Exile is slated to take place this weekend, for those who've yet to give the game a try.

The game has already generated over USD$1.2 million in revenue via in-game purchases, currency transactions and people paying to access the closed beta.

For this weekend only, the Auckland-made title will be open to the public without any purchase required as the team at Grinding Gears keep putting the game through its paces in the lead-up to launch.

The open beta will run from 5pm PDT on Friday 14th September to 11:59pm PDT Sunday 16th September. For more infrmation on the game and the open beta, click here.
