Activision riles up gamers on CoD eve with photo competition

Any punters who get themselves out to World Square in Sydney today between 11am and 3pm have the opportunity to win a copy of CoD.

The rules are simple enough - people get snapped next to the Call of Duty: Black Ops II CLAW (Cognitive Land Assault Weapon), which is somewhere in World Square, and whichever 10 photos which are shared on Facebook have the most 'likes' will win themselves a copy of the game.

It's an overt way of getting people to actively engage their friends, but by that virtue it's up to the consumers in question which of their friends they choose to bug about it, since there's no subterfuge going on.

At this point, on the even of launch anyway, the fans are already going to be tearing out hair at the prospect of getting their hands on the game, so this ought to be a nice little way of ensuring an appropriate rabble is forming prior to release.
