ACMI unveils competitions / forums for Game Masters

While the Game Masters exhibition continues, ACMI is rolling out more events, now including a forum and two new competitions.

On Wednesday 22nd August, ACMI is hosting a forum with games academic and expert Helen Stuckey, Voxel Agents artist Yangtian Li and pro-gamer Ashley Jenkins focusing on 'Girls in games'. The panel aims to be an open forum for aspiring women to seek out a path into the industry or hone their skills with the help of some long-time professionals.

A competition entitled 'Game Masters Super Chef' has been announced (with a 'Junior' version for those under 16), where participants will bake videogame-inspired food to be judged by food critic Matt Preston.

Another comp has kicked off, Sonic Sensations, which asks participants to create music inspired by games, which could mean anything from creating a new track, remixing an old one, creating a track entirely composed of in-game sound effects or anything along those lines.

Entries for Super Chef close on 17th September, while those for Sonic Sensations close on 8th October.

Game Masters recently announced Tetsuya Mizuguchi as a guest of the exhibition appearing in late September.
