Halo 4 saw over 250 stores open for those most eager to get their hands on it, but Call of Duty is knocking that out of the park.

While over in the UK, there'll be 2000 retailers keeping their doors open to cash in on the shooter giant's release, Australia is clocking in with just over 350 (283 of which are EB Games stores) retailers opening their doors at midnight tonight, a none too shabby number.

Activision is inviting media out to select locations in each state for photo ops, and has stated that it is 'expecting similar, if not bigger crowds' than the record-breaking Modern Warfare 3.

While Australia and New Zealand ought to be the first in the world to open their shrink-wraps, it looks as though one dastardly UK e-tailer has already been shipping stock.

Regardless, this will be the biggest night in the 2012 gaming calendar.
