- The reason hardcore fans already seem to know so much about the game was that its prequel, Ni No Kuni: Shikkoku no Mad?shi was released in Japan in late 2010 for DS.
- It's a PS3 exclusive Japanese anime RPG.
- Combat is a combination of real-time and turn-based spellcasting and magic.
- The developer is Level 5, creators of the Professor Layton series of menacing puzzle games.
- Level 5 enlisted Studio Ghibli, the incredible anime studio which brought us Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle, to animate the game.
- 'Ni No Kuni' is the name of a parrallel reality in the game, which the protagonist Oliver travels to in order to find his mother.
- Oliver's sidekick is a doll brought to life as a male fairy named Drippy.
- The official soundtrack for the game, composed by Joe Hisaishi, is out with all 33 tracks and a bonus art and lyrics book.
- It's tracking at 87% on Metacritic.
- It's out now on PS3 for AUD$89.95 or NZD$109.95.
