Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a creative, strategic, and organized social media and community manager to join our growing Australian and New Zealand team. While your deck strategies and APM do not need to be pro-level, your communications skills do! We are looking for an experienced contributor passionate about social media, community engagement, innovative brand communication, the gaming industry, and player communities. This role will help refine and execute strategies to develop our brands online, grow our social channels, increase content reach and engagement, leverage user generated content, and optimize social spend. Reporting to the ANZ franchise lead, the ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who is flexible and can adapt quickly to changing goals and objectives. Impeccable oral and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for Blizzard games are essential.


  • Act as public-facing representative of Blizzard ANZ and communicate on behalf of the brand across multiple channels and at events
  • Contribute to the design and execution of all ANZ community development programs for respective franchises
  • Manage communication plans and channels, striving for continuous improvement
  • Design and manage community development projects
  • Build relationships with community partners such as fan sites, influencers, and volunteers
  • Create engagement opportunities at in-person and online events
  • Analyze and report on team performance data to drive continuous improvement, optimisation, and innovation
  • Design and execute a cross-channel content calendar that leverages the strategy and strengths of each platform
  • Engage with the playerbase to ensure Blizzard is a highly responsive brand
  • Lead our company-wide social media listening efforts, serving as product owner and chief evangelist
  • Measure channel health and performance reporting and develop strategies for continued improvement
  • Actively contribute to social media risk and crisis management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and agencies
  • Represent the voice of our players in internal conversations
  • Lead and contribute to other social media and community development projects as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum five years’ experience in managing social media channels and content for a major gaming, entertainment, or technology outlet
  • Minimum two years of experience with third party relationship management
  • Minimum two years of experience with channel management, publishing calendars, reporting & analytics


  • Advanced degrees in communication, marketing, or related field
  • Social media certifications
  • Familiarity with project management and process improvement
  • A passionate gamer possessing ample experience with Blizzard games, especially Hearthstone
  • Existing strong personal network within Blizzard’s communities
