PRIMARY PURPOSE AND SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, Five Star Games is looking for an experienced PR professional with a passion for video games to join our team. The PR Manager will be responsible for developing, managing and executing the PR strategy for Five Star Games. This is an integral part of the larger marketing team, and the individual will be working closely with brand managers and the broader marketing team to deliver successful PR, social and influencer campaigns to support a portfolio of iconic gaming and peripheral brands.

Ideally coming from a video game, technology or entertainment PR background where the development and delivery of high frequent, small, medium and large sized campaigns have been integral to your role. A strong understanding of social media and influencers will be highly regarded.

The person must be well organised and enjoy the challenges of working in a fast paced, open plan environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and professional is crucial to this role. Expert level written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail are essential.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The role will encompass but is not limited to the following tasks:

  • Develop, coordinate and manage public relations campaigns and related activities for all Five Star Games software and peripheral brands
  • Manage localisation and distribution of press releases/media alerts and product assets
  • Ensure that all assets, press releases and other PR opportunities are fully maximised
  • Manage schedule for all press releases and preview/review embargoes
  • Manage previews/reviews of games across key media and social targets ensuring local coverage is maximised. Includes sending out preview/review copies
  • Maintain and expand relationships with a broad range of media and influencers. 
  • Track all media and social coverage. Ensure follow-ups to maximise coverage 
  • Social Media – Proactively manage our Facebook and Twitter accounts with key updates, trailers and key announcements and track accordingly
  • Manage and organise competitions/promotions for games and peripherals including sending out prizes 
  • Management of contacts database - media, social and influencers/streamers
  • Event support & product demonstrations where required. Will occasionally need to attend events outside normal work hours 
  • Manage and send out the Media Release schedule every month

REQUIREMENTS

  • University Degree in related field 
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ PR experience working for an agency, video games developer or publisher preferred
  • Must be passionate about video games and be familiar with the interactive entertainment industry
  • Strong, established relationships with key media and influencers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail 
  • Effective organisational and planning skills, ability to prioritise multiple tasks/deadlines
  • Must be proactive and highly motivated 
  • Results driven self-starter who works well under pressure and time constraints 
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products
