Role Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications for Australia and New Zealand, the PR, Community and Social Manager will develop and execute PR, Community and Social plans for allocated 2K products on all relevant platforms. They will also help build and maintain the 2K social media brand channels and be the direct contact for key influencers in the 2K community across Australia and New Zealand. They will directly manager the PR, Community & Social Executive.


  • Work closely with the local marketing team, International Brand & Communications teams and the local PR, Community and Social Executive on the ANZ Marketing and Communications plans for all 2K titles - ensuring these local plans are aligned with the global objectives.
  • Take ownership and accountability for the execution of the PR, Community and Social plans for all 2K titles in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring all approvals are sought and gained.
  • Take full ownership of the PR, Community and Social Australian/NZ budget for each of the 2K products, and the necessary administrative work required within these agreed and pre-approved budgets.
  • Games evangelist: Learn the 2K titles inside out, and be able to evangelise in any situation and to any audience. Be a professional fan.
  • Manage incoming media requests and build relationships with all types of media
  • Develop and maintain the media contacts database with the help of the PR, Community and Social Executive.
  • Manage the production of local press material including press releases and media packs in conjunction with the International PR team
  • Work with the PR, Community & Social Executive to create great global and local content that will engage broader audience and grow the communities for 2K and 2K products.
  • Be engaged: Know the 2K communities, where they are, how they interact. Speak their language and interact with them constantly. Understand the latest community software, platforms, and technologies, and be visible and helpful on them
  • Work with external partners to amplify our social activity
  • Managing and reviewing PR agency needs.


  • Maintain a clear process and procedure for collating, filing and communicating all PR coverage to the International Communications team
  • Work with the PR agency to produce press coverage reports
  • Select articles and approved key quotes for distribution to the sales and marketing teams in a timely manner
  • Provide qualitative tonal analysis for specific press coverage
  • Track and report on KPIs, read and synthesise broad community sentiment and social activity on key topics. Pro-actively inform other departments of potential issues and offer solutions to assist with problems


  • Work with the PR, Community and Social Executive to coordinate and support press trips, product demos and local talent tours
  • Be capable of demonstrating games to press, consumers, community and key partners as required
  • Take part in trade, developer, and consumer shows with community presence, including on-site support and interstate/international travel.


  • On occasion, you may be required to submit age-rating classification reports for 2K titles to the Australian and New Zealand Classification Boards.
  • You will be required to travel locally (interstate) and internationally in this role.

Building and Developing Relationships

  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships and communication channels internally within 2K and Take 2, internal and external developers, journalists, new media outlets and partners.
  • Become a passionate and proactive team member
  • Work with the Head of Marketing & Communications manager to build and maintain good working relationships within the local Australian/New Zealand structure.

Key Skills

  • Minimum of three years public relations or social media communications experience, with demonstrable experience running effective PR and/or social media campaigns
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets.
  • Experience and practical knowledge of all major social media platforms and supporting applications
  • Solid understanding of video games and the video game landscape; preferably with a knowledge of 2K’s franchises
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with relentless attention to detail
  • Proactive work ethic and ability to work under own initiative with limited supervision
  • Strong understanding of social media universe including YouTube, Forums, Twitter, blogs, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Adobe Photoshop (preferable).
  • Demonstrated experience of managing a PR Agency and direct reports (preferable)
