Nomination guidelines for the MCV Pacific Awards 2014

Thinking about nominating for the MCV Pacific Awards 2014? Here's all the info you need.

As we announced yesterday, nominations are now open! To nominate, head to http://mcvpacificawards.com.au. Nominations will close at 5pm Monday, April 14.

You can nominate your company, a business partner, a competitor, even yourself. Nominations must be for campaigns or activities concluded--or any business conducted--during the period April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014.

When nominating please make sure you include a brief explanation as to why your chosen nominee deserves to win.

To help you nominate in the correct category, here's a breakdown of what we're looking for: 

Online Retailer of the Year: This category is for the retailer--whether a retail chain, independent store or website--with the best online store.

Digital Retailer of the Year: This category is for the best dedicated digital marketplace that services customers via direct download.

Star Store: This category is for the best individual physical store whether part of a retail chain or an independent.

Buying Team of the Year: This category is for the best buying team at a retail chain or independent store.

Audio Accessories Brand of the Year: This category is for the best performance across PR, marketing, sales, engagement etc of a console or PC compatible audio accessories brand.

Controller and Accessories Brand of the Year: This category is for the best performance across PR, marketing, sales, engagement etc of a console or PC compatible non-audio accessories brand.

Agency of the Year: This category is for the single best agency across PR, marketing, events, experiential etc who worked on a games-related campaign.

Best Single Brand Engagement: This category is for the best single engagement across PR, marketing, events, launches, stunts etc within the eligibility period. This means the most effective engagement not merely the size or scope of the project.

Best Community Engagement: This category for the best overall consumer engagement for a product or event throughout the eligibility period. This means the most effective engagement not merely the size or scope of the project.

PR Campaign of the Year: This category is for the best overall PR campaign for a single gaming-related product (hardware, software, accessories), event or issue. This means the most effective campaign not merely the size or scope of the project.

Marketing Campaign of the Year: This category is for the best overall marketing campaign for a single gaming-related product (hardware, software, accessories) or event. This means the most effective campaign not merely the size or scope of the project.

Sales Team of the Year: This category is for the best overall sales team at a games publisher or distributor.

Retailer of the Year: This category is for the overall best retailer--whether a retail chain or independent store--including both physical and digital.

Distributor of the Year: This category is for the overall best distributor of games or gaming-related products (hardware, software, accessories).

Publisher of the Year: This category is for the overall best publisher of games or gaming-related products (hardware, software, accessories).

Once all the nominations are in--and, remember, it only takes a single nomination to be eligible--the industry then votes. Each publisher, distributor and retailer will be able to cast two votes per award category, while selected agencies, media and industry influencers will be able to cast one vote.

The MCV Pacific Awards recognise excellence in all sectors of the games industry in Australia and New Zealand. The 2014 Awards will be held on Thursday, May 8, at Sydney's premier venue, The Ivy.
