Kickstarter launches in Australia and New Zealand

Australian and New Zealand based creators will be able to launch Kickstarter projects, including video games, starting November 13.

In the video game space, the crowd-funding tool has positioned itself as an alternative publishing model over the past couple of years. Of the top ten highest funded projects to date on Kickstarter, half are video game software and hardware, including the Ouya console and the Mighty No.9 from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune (pictured).

Kickstarter will be running schools around Australia in the coming weeks to assist creators learn more about how to run a Kickstarter project.

The schools will be held in Melbourne on October 27, in Brisbane on October 28 and in Sydney on October 31 and November 1. For more info visit
