EB EXPO 2013 details emerge

EB Games has confirmed the first big news for the EB EXPO 2013, and tickets go on sale next Tuesday.

New to the already massive show is a Good Game live quiz. It's not the first time Good Game has hosted a live event, and it certainly makes sense after the team's showings at the last two years of the EB EXPO saw massive and almost problematic lines of enthusiastic fans.

Australia's first ever videogame parade will be making its way to the show this year as well, alongside The Dark Room, a videogame comedy show 'where the audience chooses its own fate' and a huge fireworks display in the EB Action Stadium.

“We could not have been happier with the success of the EB Expo in 2012," said Debra McGrath, EB Games National Brand, Events and Engagement Manager. "And initially looked to simply improve upon last year’s efforts based on our customer feedback, rather than make the event any bigger. However, due to the support of the Australian gaming industry, we believe we have been able to achieve both a bigger AND better event."

Alongside the new content, EB Games is the EB Arena, which is this year being fitted out with a 5 storey screen, the EB Community Hub, which, due to popular demand last year, has been boosted to include a 500 seat theatre and will be used for cosplay competitions and signings with international guests as well as the Good Game team.

Additionally, the Home Grown section which debuted last year and was dedicated to locally developed games has been expanded this year and will be brought into the main exhibition hall, where it'll sit comfortably alongside the big international publishers.

So far, EB has confirmed PlayStation, Xbox, Activision, Ubisoft and Warner Bros for the event so far, undoubtedly with many more to be announced in the coming months.

"We guarantee the EB Expo 2013 will once again take gaming to a new level and is a must for gamers of all ages," McGrath added.

The show will again be hosted at the Sydney Showgrounds, running for 3 days from 4th-6th October, and tickets will go on sale on Tuesday 23rd April at 10:00am Australian Eastern Standard Time.

As well as the Family Day passes, which go for AUD$119, or the all-new 'multiplayer pass', which goes for AUD$129 and gets four people in on either the Friday or Saturday.

Tickets will be sold via EB Games stores, the EB Games web site or Ticketek
